In North Florida rain and wet roads are a concern, so consider replacing your tires when they reach approximately 4/32" of remaining tread depth.
The proper tread depth will allow the rain to escape through the tire's grooves. If the water can't escape fast enough, your tires hydroplane (float) on top of the water, causing you to lose traction and decrease your ability to stop quickly.
